Great place for BBQ with a large group with 11 family members. In fact, I have had many family meals there through many years and some of those family members are no longer with us for the good food. The talking Cow still provides great Dad jokes for the little ones. Go big with the Rib King Combo of beef & pork ribs. You will have leftovers for lunch the next day.

The County Line is a true Austin institution, serving up classic BBQ for decades--longer than I've been around! This place combines the best of Texas hospitality with incredible food and stunning views that perfectly capture the charm of the area. Whether you're enjoying a plate of their tender brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, or their famous bread, every bite feels like a celebration of authentic Texas barbecue. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for gathering with friends, family, or even solo trips to indulge in great food. I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting Austin or locals who haven't yet made the trip. The County Line is more than just a restaurant--it's an experience that embodies the heart and soul of Texas.

First Time at this County Line location. They have such a lovely hill country view. It was a hot day so we chose to sit right by the large windows viewing out onto the patio. Beautiful! We came for one thing and that was the Big Daddy Beef Rib platter. Last time we had it the ribs were massive like dinosaur size. For some reason they were much smaller this time and the meat not as tender, but still delicious. Opted for a side of fried okra and potato salad. Fried okra is on point and the potato salad it's alright, but it's not mustard based. It was also HH at the time and we tried the sausage for $5. Such a hearty portion and the sausage is so tasty! Love their BBQ sauce. We had to ask for extra. Also don't forget to ask for bread which is only available upon request. Our server Travis was super nice and quick! Oh and also we asked if we could take some rib bones home for our dog and we were happily given a bag of bones to go! Our dog was in heaven!

We always take out of town guests here as another option for experiencing Texas BBQ just as someone did for me when I first arrived. The interior is a country home feel with antiques displayed throughout and an incredible view. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with fans. When using the restroom, be sure to listen to the useful language tips playing through the speakers. The service was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and our server was consistently checking in. The menu is large. We started with the fried pickles (chips, which I prefer) and homemade bread. The homemade bread comes out warm and is slightly sweet, but yummy. This beats the free one. There was a wide selection of meats, which were all good. An Austin staple.

When we have out of town visitors, we always ask if they prefer pork or Beef ribs. If they say beef, we bring them to county line. These are the best beef ribs. And the history of the place is fun as well. The view is incredible. Do not miss out on the experience of visiting the restroom. While in there, listen carefully! When we went tonight, Jacklyn was our waitress. She was excellent. She was friendly and quick. And seeing her with her tiny frame carrying the huge racks of ribs, that was a sight to behold!!
